South Asian Archery begins

Indian archers swept all the medals of the two women's events held on the opening day of the First South Asian Archery Championships at the BKSP yesterday.

Sushma won gold medals in the 60 and 70 metre events while her teammates Sumangla and Dola settled for silver and bronze in both events.

Earlier, Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan declared the four-day meet open as chief guest.

A total of 36 archers from India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and hosts Bangladesh are taking part in the meet.
