WB to provide technical help to CCC

World Bank (WB) has expressed its willingness to provide technical assistance to Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) for collection of revenue, planning and monitoring of budget and its implementation process. A high-powered WB team is expected to meet Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury next week to apprise him of their programme. This was hinted when a two-member WB team led by its Senior Financial Management specialist Suraiya Jannat called on the CCC mayor in the port city yesterday. The WB team said modernisation and computerisation of the revenue management of the city corporation will not only bring transparency but also increase revenues.
