25 hurt as cops swoop on 14-Party procession

At least 25 leaders and activists of the 14-Party Opposition were injured here when police swooped on a procession yesterday.The opposition brought out the procession as part of their ongoing countrywide protest programme. The injured included Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD Inu) central joint secretary Iqbal Hossain Khan, Awami League (AL) district unit secretary Gazi Kamrul Huda Selim, AL leaders Sakhawat Hossain Khan, Engineer ABM Anwarul Hque, Sadar AL secretary Hasib Uddin Ahmed Selim, Sadar Jubo League secretary Jahangir Alam and BCL leader Shawkat.
