Hanif still in critical condition

The condition of city Awami League (AL) President Mohammad Hanif, kept on artificial life-support system at Birdem Hospital following a massive heart attack on Wednesday, remained unchanged till last night. He is still not out of danger, doctors said at about 9:00pm. Hanif's family members want to take him to Singapore for treatment but doctors at the hospital said he could not be shifted from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) now. Some doctors from Singapore might come to Dhaka today to see Hanif, sources said. AL President Sheikh Hasina arranged a special 'munajaat' at her Dhanmondi office yesterday while the city AL held a 'doa' mahfil at the party central office at Bangabandhu Avenue for early recovery of Hanif. Housing and Public Works Minister Mirza Abbas yesterday visited the hospital and offered 'doa' for his recovery. Meanwhile, AL Advisory Council member and former law maker Imamuddin Ahmed, seriously injured in a road accident, is fighting for life at Sikder Medical College Hospital in the city. He is in deep coma. Hasina visited him at the hospital yesterday.
