I was receiving monthly E-bulletins and Newsletter (by post). Through the bulletins all I have observed or understood is TI only engaged in a few seminars and some field works around a particular locality besides their yearly declaration of Corruption Perception Index rating and 'crowning' Bangladesh.

Corruption we all like to talk about, but ironically we all are involved (many dipped in it) in this unethical stuff. Those who talk more, in fact are more involved in the issue.

Civility of our society if you put in any index like comparisons before and after our liberation, you will see the level is very down and inhumanly low after 35 years. Values existed and disappeared gradually.

Not only our politicians talk bad but the so-called educated elite, listen to their preaching and observe their life style.

University teachers are looting state grants, facilities and loitering around the politicians, do they voice the nation's concerns? (400 of them ran away with tax payers' money).

Bureaucrats are so powerful, but talk to them and you will see that the majority can't speak with manners and intelligence. Most prominent of our society, the writers - basically who helped shape up the psyche of the nation, have spoiled the middle class today, who have no culture no ethics but bogus slogans only. These preachers are morally so corrupt and down that it will take years for the rot to heal even if we try hard.

Foreign money can direct an economist or political scientist to behave. They organise seminars, symposiums, workshops until the money lasts. If that led you to believe that they are working for people, please think again.

If corruption checker (TI) behaves the way they do, what impression you get? If the civil society brings down our civility and works to dampen our values, what remains?

In 35 years only 1.3 million middle class has been created, who have amassed their wealth in the last few years, and have no sense of direction. They behave like strange creatures, service and trade getting the lead, because manufacturing requires hard work and ingenuity.

Except this meager strange population the whole nation seems content and happily endeavoring to rise, what provides the impetus to the bearing soul of this nation?
