The injured are JCD Joint General Secretary Khorshed Alam, Assistant Office Secretary Apu, Sports Secretary Saifuddin Alam Mithu and Law Faculty President Parvez.

They were rushed to CU Medical Centre for treatment, sources said.

The clash erupted when BCL Sports Secretary Mosleh Uddin Musa was smoking in front of JCD President MR Chowdhury Milton on CU Railway Station premises at around 1:30pm.

JCD activists humiliated Mosleh for showing 'disrespect' to their party chief. At this stage, CU Proctor Dr Mohammad Al Amin rushed to the spot and tried to settle the matter.

Meantime, the JCD men suddenly swooped on the BCL activists with batons but the BCL chased and counter-attacked them that left four JCD activists injured, sources said.

BCL called student strike on the campus today demanding immediate expulsion and arrest of the JCD men involved in the attack.
