Spice trader murdered in city

Police recovered the body of a businessman at Gulshan in the city on Monday night.

Gulshan police recovered the body of Abu Sayed Hossain, 45, from Banani Road- 4 and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.

Sayed, a wholesaler of spices at Moulavibazar in the old city, had been missing since Monday evening when he went to Mohakhali to bring his nephew's pathological reports, police said.

Family members suspect that he might have been killed by the muggers as his costly cellphone set is lost.

Though mark of injuries was observed, DMC morgue sources, however, could not ascertain the cause of his death yet.

Victim's family members said they came to know about the incident while watching the TV news. Later, they identified him at the DMC morgue.
