DRockstars grand finale on March 24

After over seven months of rigorous scouting by several televised sessions on Channel i, Grameen Phone (GP) DRockstars' quest to find the best rock singers in Bangladesh will come to an end. Out of ten finalists, the top six DRockstars were selected after their long struggle, checking and crosschecking by judges as well as by popular votes. One of these six will be finally crowned the long awaited 'DRocktars' at the gala night held at Bangladesh-China friendship Conference Centre on March 24. An update of the programme was given at a press conference at the Pizza Hut in Gulshan on March 21. Acting head of marketing of GP, Rubaba Dowla Matin, rock icon Ayub Bachchu, singer Hasan Habibur Rahman Reza Jewel and Debashish Roy were present at the press conference. The 10 finalists of DRockstars also gathered at the press conference. During the practice sessions, Bachhu would individually help the contestants fine tune their acts for the final competition. "The DRockstar contestants won a place in the minds and hearts of the judges and the audience by sheer dint of their talent and motivation. All 10 DRockstar contestants proved beyond doubt that they are among the best singers in the country," said Bachhu. A nationwide tour with these 10 finalists, Masud, Niloy, Samrat, Sangeeta, Shushmita, Salman, Amen, Intehar, Shuvo and Opu will start soon. It was also stated that a new album with their songs and music by Ayub Bachchu is on the cards.
