Proper investigation into the killing of Kibria is a must to establish that no-one is above the law, he said at the 'Blue for Peace' programme in the city.

Demanding punishment to the masterminds behind the murder, he said such brutal killings cannot be stopped unless the masterminds are brought to justice.

Family members of Kibria, civil society members and leaders of different organisations formed a human chain in front of the Institute of Engineers as part of the 'Blue for Peace' programme demanding fair trial of the Kibria killing case.

Joint General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Kader, Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, AL leader Nurul Islam Nahid and Subash Singha Roy joined the programme.

The programme was scheduled to be held in front of the High Court, but the police did not allow the organisers to form a human chain there as the prime minister's car was due to pass through the area at that time.
