The identity of the girl, aged around 17, could not be known immediately.

Police recovered the body near the boundary wall of a house at Manipur in Mirpur at 3:00pm.

The neck was tied with the salwar that the girl was wearing and the body had some minor injury marks, said police.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
