70 prisoners to be freed on Independence Day

The government has decided to release 70 under-trial prisoners, who are detained for committing minor offences, from various jails in the country on the occasion of the Independence and National Day-2006, an officials handout said.The government hoped that the acquitted persons would lead life as good citizens and play proper role in the socio-economic development of the country.
