Special TV Play on Independence Day
To mark Independence Day, the TV channels will air single-episode plays and tele-films based on the theme of the Liberation War and its impact on our lives. Here is a rundown of some of the plays that stand apart for their plots and talented cast:

Ekoda Ekdin
Amjad Ali Patwari is the descendent of a zamindar. However, except for the house where Amjad and his family dwell, they have no legacy. Amjad has two daughters. His wife, the sole earner in the family, teaches at a local school. Amjad's elderly mother also lives with them.

Amjad has two obsessions: classical music and gambling. His partner-in crime is Abinash, whose son is a university student in Dhaka. Amjad learns that Abinash's son is an active participant in the protests against the Yahya regime. Amjad doesn't understand the reason for these protests. He strongly opposes a separation from Pakistan.

Meanwhile war breaks out. The Pakistani military abducts Abinash's daughter. Amjad realises that his daughter is vulnerable too and decides to join the freedom fighters.
