Visitors on top

Bangladesh A batsmen Nafees Iqbal and Tushar Imran struck half-centuries in reply to a huge first innings total by visiting Sri Lanka A on the second day of the second Test at the Shaheed Chandu stadium in Bogra.

The visitors compiled a mammoth 466 before being bowled out in their first innings. Overnight batsman Chamara Silva scored 81 off 116 balls.

Left-arm spinner Enamul Haque took four wickets for 117 while off-spinner Jamaluddin took 3-67. Tapash Baisya and Mashrafee took one wicket each.

In reply, the second string Bangladesh side got off to a disastrous start with opener Nazmus Sadat being struck on his nose by a bouncer from opening bowler Ishara Amarasinghe. He was later admitted to a local hospital.

Captain Tushar Imran then joined Test opener Nafees in a century partnership. Imran scored 57, while Iqbal compiled a well made 62.

Sakib Al Hassan and Mushfiqur Rahim were not out on 18 and 22 respectively.
