In a gesture of love for former fiancee Cicarelli at the start of their whirlwind relationship, Real Madrid star Ronaldo had the initials 'D' and 'R' tattooed either side of a love heart inside his left fist.

Ronaldo had got into the habit of brandishing his discreet piece of body art every time he scored a goal.

But now that he has broken up with Cicarelli, Ronaldo has had the 'D' changed to an 'R' as a gesture of affection towards his six-year-old son Ronald, a product of his first marriage, Brazilian media reported.

Ronaldo and Cicarelli announced they had separated on May 11 last year, less than three months since they celebrated their engagement in a lavish party held at the French chateau of Chantilly on Valentine's Day.
