20 injured in clashes ahead of Galachipa poura polls

At least 20 people were injured as supporters of BNP and Awami League (AL) clashed in Galachipa under Patuakhali district Friday night and early Saturday.The clashes took place ahead of today's Galachipa Pourasabha election. Witnesses said, 11 people were injured in Kala Bagan area of the town when the workers of BNP backed chairman candidate Sohrab Hossain attacked the workers of AL nominated chairman candidate Wahab Khalifa Friday night. In another incident early Saturday, nine people were injured when the supporters of Sohrab attacked the workers of incumbent chairman and BNP rebel candidate Abu Taleb Mia.
