Md Rafi Imam, Additional District and Sessions Judge-1, yesterday gave the verdict after examining witnesses and relevant documents.

The court also fined the convict Tk 5000 each, in default, to suffer one year more RI.

The convicts are Abdul Khalek, Abu Sayed, Ikbal Hossain, Tarikul Islam, Amir Ali, Shahjahan, Abdur Razzak, Jahangir Alom, Jahurul Haq Ismail Hossain, Iasir and Polas of Morgram village. Of them, six have been absconding since the incident.

According to the prosecution, the convicts abducted Yusuf Ali, 13, son of Hasmot Ali of Morgra village and student of a local school on July 1, 2001 at night over sequel to a previous enmity with his father.

Later, the abductors took him to a shoal area of Satiantola near the Jamuna river and they slaughtered him with sharp weapons.

Police recovered his body and filed a case against the twelve.
