The IOJ leaders are Mufti Khalilur Rahman, convener of a faction of IOJ also Imam of Rajshahi Central Jail Jame Mosque, and Tawfik Aziz, an IOJ member also a part time Imam of Binodhpur Jame Mosque. The call girl is Moni Begum.

Police showed the IOJ leaders arrested under section 77 of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Ordinance for hiring the girl for sexual gratification and sent them to jail custody. They will be produced before a court on Monday.

Police said local residents have been suspecting the two Imams of illicit activities for the last several weeks. They caught them red-handed hours after Mufti Khalil entered the house with Moni on Friday night.

As the local residents laid siege to the house to capture the two Imams at night, the imams boasted of having blessings of an influential person and told them that the police could not touch them, said a witness.

Later, local people led by the ward commissioner caught them.

Police, quoting the call girl, said the IOJ leaders themselves did not take sexual favours from her, but they hired her for a VIP client for Tk 2000.

Allegations are rife against the two IOJ leaders that they supply call girls for an influential person, said a source.
