2 street urchins hurt in wrapped bottle bomb


Two street urchins were injured in an explosion as one of them unsuspectingly tried to throw a wrapped bottle into the Buriganga at Sadarghat in the city yesterday noon.

Police rescued injured Mohammad Miraj, 10, and Shahidul Islam Faruk, 12, and took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Shahidul, who sustained injuries to his chest, said he along with three of his friends went to the Buriganga to bathe around 12:00noon and found a bottle wrapped with tape near a dustbin.

He threw the bottle at the river but it hit a nearby wall and exploded also injuring the right eye of Miraj.
