Faridpur likely to be dropped

Faridpur are likely to be thrown out from the country's first-ever Professional Football League (PFL).

No representative from the team took part in the three-day workshop, arranged by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) for the Pro League teams.

BFF is now considering to replace the spot by one of the three teams -- Rahmatganj, Victoria or Badda Jagarani, sources said.

Of the three teams, Rahmatganj stand a strong possibility to become the 12th team in the PFL as they finished eighth in the last Premier League.

"The Pro League committee will decide the fate of Faridpur's participation in the league immediately after the workshop," BFF general secretary Anwarul Haq Helal told Tuesday.
