Robbers loot money, valuables worth Tk 8 lakh in Sunamganj

Armed robbers looted money and valuables worth about Tk 8 lakh from a house at a remote village in Sunamganj district early yesterday. The gang sneaked into the house at Kamargaon in Chhatak at about 1:15am when the family members were watching a World Cup match on television, with the door open. The robbers equipped with lethal weapons swooped on the family members and beat them up before looting 22 tolas of gold ornament, four mobile phone sets, clothes and other valuables and money. They fled the village by a boat, said the family members. Brothers and sons of the house owner, Kamal Uddin, had been in the UK for long.
