'Take stern action against plagiarists, book pirates'

Puthipatra, a publishing company, yesterday urged the government to take stern action against plagiarists and book-pirates to ensure quality education in the country.

Managing Director of Puthipatra Maj (Retd) Mohammad Yasin Molla at a press conference in the city said the plagiarists are not only causing huge financial loss to the publishers but also destroying our total education system by providing the students books full of mistakes.

The company organised the press conference in response to arrests of some plagiarists from Banglabazar in the city and Doyamoyee point in Jamalpur.

He also alleged that some quarters in Banglabazar in Dhaka, Chaumohani in Noakhali, Araihazar in Narayangang, Bogra and Narsingdi are involved in such dishonest activities.
