The workers on June 14 and 15 demonstrated against the autocratic behaviour of its General Manager Pang Fee Chi and some other officials. In the wake of workers agitation, the authorities of DEPZ on June 15 asked three alleged corrupt employees of Redpoint not to enter the factory premises until further notice. Workers of the factory fear operation at the factory will never resume. They can neither go home nor join work at other factories as anonymous callers over cellphone and thugs in person threaten them of dire consequences, sources said. "Unidentified people allegedly kidnapped Nasima, a sewing section worker, on Monday morning and released her later in a critical condition, " said Ramzan Ali, convener of Workers Representative Welfare Committee of the factory. Nasima went into hiding without having proper treatment fearing further attacks, he added.
