BDR, BSF trade gunshots in C'nawabganj

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) again traded gunfire on Chapainawabganj border on Monday night.

However, there was no report of any casualty.

Lt Col Lutfar Rahman, commander of BDR Battalion-6, said the BSF men fired 15 to 20 bullets from three border points without any provocation, forcing the Bangladesh border guards to retaliate.

Earlier on Sunday night, the Indian border guards from Char Renuka outpost along Poladanga border gunned down a Bangladeshi farmer, Sadequl, and took away his body.

BDR strongly protested the incident and asked its Indian counterpart to return the body. The BSF did not return the body as of 6:00pm yesterday.
