Three killed in Ctg road accidents


Three people were killed and seven others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong yesterday.

One person was killed and four others were injured when a Chittagong-bound bus collided head on with another bus at Bhatiari under Sitakunda upazila at around 2:30am.

The dead was identified as Moslem Uddin, 25, son of Shah Alam of Munshir Hat of Char Fashion under Bhola while the injured were Abul Kalam, Hasan Ali, Muntasir and Md Hasan.

They were rushed to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) at around 4:00am and undergoing treatment at the casualty ward in the hospital.

In another incident on the highway, a truck driver was killed when another truck ran over him at Bhanur Bazaar under the same upazila at around 3:00am.

Witnesses said the accident occurred when the victim was washing the looking glass of his truck getting down from it.

He was rushed to the CMCH at around 6:00am where he succumbed to his injuries at around 7:00am.

Another person was killed on the spot and three others were injured as a Chittagong-bound auto-tempo skidded off the road and fell into a roadside ditch at Brahmanhat area under Raozan upazila at around 4:00am.

The victim was identified as Badsha Mia of Raozan.

Critically injured Roksana Begum, Poli Akhter and Farida Begum were sent to the CMCH, said the sources.
