World Hydrographic Day today
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared June 21 as World Hydrographic Day. This year's theme of the day is "85 years of the International Hydrographic Organisation's contribution to worldwide safety to navigation".International Hydrographic Organisation and other national and international organisations chalked out different activities in order to highlight the significance of the day, says a press release. In 2001, Bangladesh became the 70th member of International Hydrographic Organisation.
