No dialogue with war criminals
Says Jalil
Unb, Dhaka
Awami League (AL) General Secretary Abdul Jalil has said the inclusion of BNP Secretary General Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan in the government panel of negotiators for the dialogue on electoral reforms will not help break the impasse."Mannan Bhuiyan said he'll replace one Jamaat member in the five-member government panel of negotiators, but another war criminal and patron of militants will remain there," Jalil said while talking to reporters after a meeting of the central leaders of AL-led 14-party opposition combine at AL's Dhanmondi office yesterday. Bhuiyan on Wednesday said in parliament that out of five members in the government panel of negotiators, one Jamaat member will be dropped and he will be in the panel for discussion. Jalil, also the coordinator of the 14-party lineup, reiterated that they would not go for any discussion with the war criminals and the patrons of militants. Chaired by AL presidium member Amir Hossain Amu, the meeting urged the opposition leaders and workers to make their July 2 road-rail-waterway blockade programme a success. The meeting was present, among others, by Rashed Khan Menon, Pankaj Bhattacharya, Mufidul Islam Khan Kamal, Moinuddin Khan Badal, Nurul Islam, Haji Abdus Samad and Obaidul Kader.
