Anti-Adulteration Drive In Ctg
TK 3 lakh realised in fine


A mobile court in separate drives awarded punishment to two fuel stations for cheating consumers with measuring units and a firm for marketing substandard groceries in the port city in last two days.

The court realised Tk 3 lakh in fine from them.

The mobile court conducted by Chittagong Port Authority Magistrate Mohammad Munir Chowdhury fined fuel stations Khan and Brothers and Tigerpass Agencies Limited and realised Tk 55 thousand in fine and sealed off six dispensing units tampered to cheat the consumers.

In the other drive, the court fined Gazi Commodity Marketing Tk 2.5 lakh for packaging and marketing date expired and substandard food grains using fake BSTI label and marks.

The firm was running illegally inside a soap factory at Sagarika BISCIC Industrial Area under Pahartali Police Station.

The court also held the marketing officer of the firm Nezamul Hoque Chowdhury in this connection.

Members of Bangladesh Standard Testing Institute (BSTI) and Chittagong Metropolitan Police assisted the court in the drives.
