Train movement suspended for 5 hours

Train movement on Dhaka-Chittagong and Chittagong-Sylhet routes remained suspended for five hours yesterday due to the bending of railway track near Akhaura junction.

Severe heat wave caused the bending of the track at about 12:00 noon, resulting in the suspension of train movement that stranded a number of local and inter-city trains causing untold sufferings to the passengers.

Train movement, however, resumed at about 5:00pm as railway officials from Akhura rushed to the spot and repaired the track.
