Punishment to Masum's killers demanded

The students of Jagannath University yesterday formed a human chain in front of the university gate demanding punishment to the killers of Khandakar Iqbal Hossain Masum, who died following torture in the police custody on July 8 last year.Condemning the brutal killing, the protestors said 43 thousand students of the university would launch tougher movements if the culprits are not tried in 15 days. Masum's parents, Khandakar Abul Khaer and Renuara Begum, burst into tears, while attending the human chain. They also demanded punishment to the killers of their son. Family members claimed that Detective Branch of Police called Masum over phone from Mehedi Community Centre at Asad Gate on July 8 and tortured him to death following someone's instigation.
