Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) is a combination of modern technology and surgical innovation, which aims to surgical procedures with minimal physical and psychological trauma. Nowadays, MIS has become the standard of care for different surgical procedures. It is widely accepted in nearly all medical specialities, replacing traditional, open method of surgery, the surgeons observed.

The conference was organised by Lab Aid Specialised Hospital. Professor MA Hadi, president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) was the chief guest in the inaugural ceremony of the conference.

Four scientific sessions followed the inaugural session, dedicated to four disciplines of MIS and focusing on the development and possibilities of this kind of surgery.
