The victim was identified as Abul Hussain, 35.

Witnesses said a gang of three stormed into Hotel Rajmahal International around 9:00am and was looking for its manager. As the manager was not available, the gang demanded toll from Abul Hussain. On refusal, the extortionists shot him point blank and left the scene.

Md Jahir, another employee of the hotel, took Abul Hussain to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Jahir said the extortionists had been demanding toll from the hotel manager for the last few weeks.

Victim's brother filed a murder case with Ramna Police Station.
