'Save Manikganj from river erosion'

Karmajibi Nari (KM) urged the government to take effective measures immediately to save Manikganj from erosion by Kaliganga river.Leaders of KM said Kaliganga has already devoured vast land of the area forcing hundreds of people landless. They held a rally, formed a human chain and submitted a memorandum to the prime minister demanding preventive steps to resist the Kaliganga and provide rehabilitation of the affected people. Women workers also joined the human chain and the rally at Manikganj bus stand. KM President Shirin Aktar, freedom fighter Iqbal Hossein Khan and Mehera Khatun addressed the rally.
