Aesthetic balance with Ikebana

A day-long solo Ikebana exhibition by Rina Rahman, a student of Dhaka Japanese Ikebana School was organised by the National Association of Unesco Clubs in Bangladesh at BNCU Conference Hall on July 17.

On display at the exhibition were 25 seasonal and artificial floral arrangements. The arrangements created an aesthetic balance of flower, vase and the surrounding space and a harmony of linear construction, rhythm, and colour.

Professor M. Asaduzzaman, chairperson, University Grants Commission, inaugurated the exhibition while journalist Gias Kamal Chowdhury presided over the function. ANM Bazlur Rahman, secretary, Bangladesh National Commission for Unesco, Takashi Asai, first secretary, Japanese embassy in Bangladesh, Mahbubuddin Chowdhury, secretary general Unesco Club Association and Rina Rahman also addressed the inaugural ceremony.
