Expressing her deep sympathy for the members of the bereaved family, Butenis said she is with them and inquired of the status of the Ahsanullah Master murder case and condition of the family.

She praised Zahid Ahsan Russel, son of Ahsanullah Master, for engaging himself in public welfare following the path of his late father.

Butenis also visited the spot where Ahsanullah Master was killed on May 7, 2004.

Earlier, the US ambassador met the family members of AL lawmaker and former finance minister late Shah AMS Kibria at Dhanmondi as part of her schedule to meet the families of "political victims".
