Mikel granted UK work permit

Nigerian midfielder Jon Obi Mikel, a 16 million-pound (23.4 million-euro) Chelsea signing from Norwegian club Lynn Oslo, has been granted a work permit.The Premiership champions completed the move of the 19-year-old last month after a dispute with Lynn and Manchester United. Mikel is one of four players to have moved to Stamford Bridge this summer along with Michael Ballack, Andriy Shevchenko and Salomon Kalou.
