Joy, Arman join camp

National team's coach in-charge Hassanuzzaman Babloo was a relaxed man after three midfielders joined the camp yesterday.

Apart from Arif Khan Joy and Arman Mia, who had announced their retirement from international football, ace midfielder Matiur Munna also attended yesterday morning's fitness training session.

Munna was abroad when the camp was called for Bangladesh's 2007 Asian Cup qualifier against Qatar.

The management of the team successfully persuaded Joy and Arman to reconsider their decision after the 20-member squad was left with just three midfield players in their absence.

Centre-back Rajani Kanta Barman, now in India, is the only absentee form the camp.

The match, scheduled for August 16, looks set to be staged in Chittagong's under-construction MA Aziz Stadium although the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) had rejected it as a venue earlier.

With the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka under heavy renovation works, the BFF turned to Qatar to host both legs of the match but the AFC finally asked the Bangladesh Football Federation to organise the match, on conditions, in Chittagong.

It was learnt that the MA Aziz Stadium could be prepared for the match with minor adjustments at the dressing room. The AFC has also asked the BFF to make Qatar's transit in Dhaka on way to Chittagong as short as possible.
