England beat Pakistan by an innings and 120 runs on the third day of the second Test at Old Trafford Saturday to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.

Left-arm spinner Monty Panesar took a Test-best five for 72 and fast bowler Steve Harmison five for 57 as Pakistan, replying to England's first innings 461 for nine declared were bowled out for 222 in their second innings with more than two days to spare.
