Two sisters stabbed over land dispute

Neighbours stabbed two sisters as a sequel to land dispute at Tongi on Friday.

Critically injured Jasmine Akhter, 25, is under treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital while her elder sister Shahnaj Parvin is receiving treatment at Tongi Hospital.

Sources said neighbours of Jasmine and Shahnaj blocked the road to their home on Friday morning and as they protested the move, both sides were locked into an altercation. At one stage, the neighbours hit the two sisters with sharp weapon in their heads and they fell on the ground.

Locals then rushed them to local hospital, the source added.
