65,000 Bangladeshis to perform Hajj this year

A total of 65,000 pilgrims from Bangladesh will perform Hajj, likely on December 30 this year, under the government management and through the approved agencies.An official announcement yesterday said willing Hajj pilgrims under the government management would have to deposit with the designated bank-branches an amount of Tk 193,080 for 'Green Category' and Tk 173,080 for 'Blue Category' as overall service charge. However, the intending pilgrims under private management would have to deposit the money with the fixed bank accounts of the Hajj agencies approved by the Religious Affairs Ministry. "Intending pilgrims under both categories will have to deposit money by September 25. Pilgrims under the government management would have to submit their applications to the respective Deputy Commissioner's Office by September 25," said the handout. "The next Hajj will be held on December 30 subject to moon- sighting," it said.
