IU expels six shibir cadres


The Islamic University (IU) authorities have expelled six cadres of Islami Chhatra Shibir temporarily for their involvement in vandalising the office of the TSC director on Saturday.

IU Vice-chancellor Prof Fayez Mohammad Sherajul Haque took the decision on Monday evening following the demand of Islamic University Teachers' Association (IUTA) for punishment of guilty shibir men.

The IUTA recommended the punishment of shibir cadres at its general meeting on Sunday.

The expelled are Shafiqul Islam and Zafor Iqbal of Dawah and Islamic Studies, Atiqur Rahman and Shahidul Islam of MBA, Saiful Islam, an MA student, and Mushfiqur Rahman, a third year student of Al Quran and Islamic studies department.
