Concern over cop-RMG workers' clash

Karmojibi Nari, an initiative for working women, yesterday expressed concern over the clashes between police and garment workers at Badda Progoti Soroni and Airport intersections in the city. In a press release, President Shirin Akhter and General Secretary Sharmin Kabir said the workers of TRF and Limon garments were not given salary and allowances for last two months. "How will they concentrate on their jobs under such circumstances? the Karmojibi Nari leaders posed a question. They said police atrocity on workers must be stopped immediately, and at the same time vandalism and clash inside the factory should also be stopped. Shirin and Sharmin observed that the owners and workers should protect the promising sector through mutual cooperation. They called for immediate payment of arrear salary and allowances and execution of the tripartite agreement between the government, owners and workers.
