BCB Academy start brightly


The BCB National Academy team thrived on two half centuries by Nazmus Sadat and Zahirul Islam to make a bright start on the first day of the second and final four-day match against a Pakistan Academy side at Multan yesterday.

At stumps, the visiting side scored 241 for five wickets in 92 overs with Nadif Chowdhury (42) and Shuvo (0) batting.

Despite skipper Mehrab Hossain's early departure for 10 runs, BCB Academy team had a very good lunch when they put 76 runs on the board in the first session after the home side had invited them to bat first.

Opener Nazmus Sadat scored 64 off 105 balls that featured nine boundaries while Zahirul, who smashed a hundred and a fifty in previous matches, continued his good form with a patient 181-ball 53 with five hits to the fence.

Sahagir Hossain was the other notable scorer with 46.
