Domestic help tortured in city

A domestic help, who was tortured allegedly by her employer at the city's Dhanmondi area, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday with several burn injuries.At DMCH, victim Salina, 19, said she has been working as a domestic help at Nurul Islam's house for the last one and a half years. She also told The Daily Star that Nurul Islam's wife used to beat her frequently. On the day of the incident on Monday, she has burned different parts of her body and has confined her inside the house for two days. Sabina somehow managed to get out of the house after two days and told her story to a neighbour. The neighbour, a schoolteacher, seeing her injuries immediately brought Sabina to DMCH.
