The fuel-oil businesspeople went for the strike to protest against insufficient supply of fuel from depots, the association said.

Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners Association, however, opted not to support the strike and they would continue to dispense fuel.

Insiders in the fuel-oil trade indicated that there would be 'hardly any dearth of supply in spite to the strike'.
