BCB sits with players today

As per schedule, the team evaluation committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sits with the national team players today to have their opinions on the just-concluded Zimbabwe and Kenya tours.

The board already had sessions with coach Dav Whatmore and manager Shafiqul Haque Hira in a bid to unearth the truth in the controversy that embroiled the former.

Bangladesh suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 series defeat against an ordinary Zimbabwe before the consolation 3-0 win against Kenya. The BCB has decided to look into the Zimbabwe debacle as well as the controversy that was reported in some newspapers during the tour.

BCB's chief executive officer Mahmudur Rahman informed that president Ali Asghar would be present in the meeting besides the committee members -- vice-president Shah Nurul Kabir Shaheen, general secretary Mahbubul Anam, Shamim Kabir, ASM Faruque and Khondokar Jamiluddin.

"After the meeting the committee will prepare a report to submit to the president who will then decide what to do," said Rahman.

Meanwhile, captain Habibul Bashar said that he was not sure about the nature of the discussion.

"The Board just asked us to attend the meeting after the net session at Mirpur," said Bashar.
