BOA's selection committee for Asiad


The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) yesterday announced a six-member selection committee for the 15th Asian Games to be held in Doha in December.

Bangladesh Judo Federation president and DG of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Maj Gen M Akbar Akhter, who was the Chief de Mission of the Bangladesh contingent in the recently concluded 10th South Asian Games, has been named convenor.

BOA deputy secretary general Ishtiaque Ahmed Curren is the member secretary of the group, which will select the athletes for the Games. The other members are Monirul Huq, Tabiur Rahman, AK Sarkar and Qamrunnahar Dana.

The committee will consider the performances of athletes in the last Asiad and the 10th SA Games in Colombo.

It has been asked to submit its suggestions to the BOA by September 10 for the final approval of the BOA chief.
