Mertesacker back in training

Werder Bremen's German international defender Per Mertesacker is back in full training after an operation on a heel injury that has sidelined him since the World Cup."The training was ok but I still feel slight pressure on the heel," said Mertesacker. "I just need time getting used to the ball again." The 21-year-old Mertesacker was a mainstay in Germany's defence for the World Cup campaign and his performances earned him a 4.7 million euro move from Hannover to Bremen.
