Perrotta extends Roma contract

Roma midfielder Simone Perrotta has signed a two-year contract extension, the Serie A club confirmed on Monday. The 28-year-old Italy international's new deal will keep him at the club until 2010. England-born Perrotta was a key figure for Italy in their triumphant World Cup campaign. Perrotta's decision to commit further to Roma was a welcome boost for the club ahead of their opening Champions League match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
