Prof Shamsul Haque passes away

Prof M Shamsul Haque, former vice-chancellor of Dhaka University, passed away yesterday afternoon at the age of 80, says a press release.Prof Haque was also a former adviser to the caretaker government. Born on June 1 in 1926, Prof Haque began his career as a teacher of the university in 1950. He also held different important positions, including chairman of the University Grants Commission. He is survived by one daughter, two sons and four grandsons. His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Dhaka University mosque after Zohr prayers today.
