State honour this morning

The government yesterday announced that deceased sculptor and freedom fighter Nitun Kundu will be given state honour at his funeral at the Central Shaheed Minar today at 11:00am.The body of Nitun Kundu will be first taken to the Institute of Fine Arts on the Dhaka University campus at 10:00am today. From there his body will be taken to the Central Shaheed Minar at 11:00am and kept for people to pay their last tribute to the artist. Dhaka City Corporation Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka said all preparations have been made for the artist's funeral in state honour as he was a valiant freedom fighter. Before cremating at the Postagola cremation centre, Nitun Kundu's body will be taken to Otobi's Shyampur factory where he fell unconscious following a heart attack on Tuesday.
